NSCDC Officials Arrest ‘Mad Man’ Who Received N1.5million Credit Alert On His Mobile Phone

A rampaging tout pretending to be a mad man has been apprehended for alleged kidnapping in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The offender, merely recognized as Dele, was nabbed on Monday across the Isikan space within the capital metropolis. 

An eyewitness instructed our correspondent that the supposedly mad man, who saved wandering the world alone, was suspected to be in possession of a “cell phone” whereas performing humorous.

He stated the offender was rapidly surrounded and handed over to the officers of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

Pedro Awili, the Commandant of the NSCDC in Ondo State, confirmed his arrest on Tuesday afternoon.

Awili stated the offender was handed to the Corps’ Fast Respons Squad (QRS) for fast arrest.  

He later paraded the arrested offender and 7 different criminals for numerous offences earlier than journalists on the command’s Alagbaka workplace. 

“The QRS workforce of the Command on October 15 arrested one Dele who was pretending as a madman at Isikan space of Akure with Itel cellphone,” he stated.

“When our males arrested him and checked his cell phone after some few seconds, he obtained a fee alert of N1.5 million into his account.

“Instantly the alert entered, he forcefully collected the cell phone and smashed it on the ground. We went to restore the cell phone to know and confirm the person who despatched the cash to him and the individuals he’s working for.” 

The Ondo NSCDC boss stated offender belongs to a gang of serial kidnap syndicate terrorizing individuals and harmless residents of the state. 

He vowed that the command would examine the case to a conclusion and guarantee justice is correctly served on the offender and his cohorts within the state.

He suggested the general public to cooperate with the safety companies by giving the command well timed and correct info able to resulting in the arrest of prison components within the state.
