Nigerian anti-corruption activist to address European conference on corruption

– Nigerian anti-corruption activist, Hamzat Lawal would be addressing a conference in Netherlands

– The conference will focus on the implications of illicit financial flows on humans

– Lawal is the chief executive officer of Connected Development, a civil society organisation committed to fighting graft in Nigeria

Nigerian activist, Hamzat Lawal has been invited to speak about the implications of illicit financial flows on humans at the 2019 Innovation Partos Festival scheduled to take place on Thursday, October 11 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Legit.ng gathered that Hamzat will also be joining a high-level expert panel, alongside Anika Altaf, co-author of Trickle Up & Eddie Krooneman, a political analyst at the Netherlands; to explore current challenges and the changing landscape of support for development and social justice.

The panel would also discuss multi-dimensional poverty and the most important approach to reach the poorest.

Other discussions would also be; the effects of climate change in Sub-Sahara Africa, and how Hamzat-led Connected Development is mobilizing people for action, telling compelling stories with technology tools.

Partos Innovation Festival is an annual conference in Europe that celebrates innovation and inclusion in international development.

It brings together NGOs, civil society leaders, researchers, social entrepreneurs, funders, government, and the private sector; who share ideas, inspiration new trends in global development.

Meanwhile, a group of Nigerian students recently won a gold medal at an international school entrepreneurship competition in the United States of America.

The youngsters who are students of Abuja-based Marist College Yangoji, won the grand award with their innovative problem-solving device code-named: Marist Air Quality Monitor (MARIST-AQM).
